Since the 1990s, researchers and photographers from all over the world have visited the Cristalino RPPNs and found an authentic wildlife paradise, with a wealth of fauna and flora, endemic, rare and endangered species and, not infrequently, the studies reveal species that are new to science.
That is why we believe that knowledge about the forest, its value and its possible uses that are compatible with conservation are crucial to the protection of the Amazon biome. Therefore, we encourage research and support for development and make infrastructure and facilities available to researchers, under agreements with Brazilian and foreign institutions.
From the research carried out in the Cristalino nature reserves, we feed upon the knowledge and derive support for the management of the conservation areas, while facilitating the dissemination and interpretation of the information for different audiences. From our rich database, we provide lists of the species recorded by researchers over the years, backed up by technical and scientific articles that are continually being updated.

PRIORITY LINES OF RESEARCH IN THE RPPNS
The FEC gives priority to supporting studies that fill in knowledge gaps that have been identified in the reserve management plans, as well as encouraging the continuity of research that has already been carried out by its various partner institutions.
